August 25, 2015 - We recently attended a private quarter mile event at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. Never passing up the opportunity to make some passes, we packed up our MK7 GTI and made the 2.5 hour drive. While we didn't anticipate setting any records, we figured it would be a good chance to get some shake down runs in. The vehicle setup for this event was:
- HG Motorsport Carbon Intake
- BFI Engine & Transmission Mounts
- Emmanuele Design Adjustable End Links
- Wavetrac Limited Slip Differential
- M&H 17" Slicks
With the density altitude hovering around +2400 feet, our ET's were consistently in the 12.6 range. After playing around with the tire pressures, we were finally able to break into the 12.5's with a 12.554 run. While our trap speed was not as fast as previous days, we were pleased to see the car consistently improve. We will continue to tweak the setup and look to improve upon this time as the weather cools down.
